Also known as the Barbary Sheep, the Aoudad is native to the deserts and mountains of North Africa, but has flourished in the gentler climate of the southern United States.
Aoudads posses a reddish tan coloring with an underside that is moderately lighter. Both sexes have a heavy fringe of hair on their throat and thick, triangular-based horns with numerous rings. The male’s horns are larger and tend to curve out, back and then in again towards the animals back.
An adult male Aoudad is often one of the most challenging of the exotics to take, so be prepared for and exciting hunt.
